Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club, Mission Viejo, California, USA

When I approached the first tee of the Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club I wasn't quite sure what to expect from the course. I heard several positive comments on it I and I was so curious to test the course myself.
Well, after 18 holes I can definitely says Arroyo Trabuco is one of the finest and most fun to play public golf courses of the area.
Located in Mission Viejo, CA just off I-5 Interstate Highway, the par 72 layout stretches for 7,011 yds (73.1/134) from the back tees along the Trabuco Creek, featuring elevation changes, with breathtaking views of the surrounding, water hazards, forced carries and a collection of unforgettable holes.
Back nines are absolutely unique. From the 10th tee, the highest tee on the course, to the 18th green, a total experience of golf.  Short and long par 4s, two great par 3s and two magnificent par 5s.
A true inland links-style golf course, opened in 2004 and designed by 1996 British Open winner Tom Lehman with local golf architect Casey O'Callaghan.
The links-style feeling is often enhanced by the local conditions, hard and fast fairways, sloping greens and a game that can be influenced by the recurrent Ocean breezes.
A curiosity of the course is the plaque located on the 18th fairway indicating Phil Mickelson's drive distance from the tee when he played the course on 2009.
A final suggestion: if you are planning to play Arroyo Trabuco, the experience is not completed without a drink or a meal at the O'Neill's Bar & Grill, one of the most acclaimed and rewarded 19th holes in Southern California.
